Honorables:
We at PAGTATAP Philippines are calling upon you, our elected
protectors, out of great concern, of perplexity, of surprise, and as
brothers bound by the same heritage and future.
Our concern is truly great. NAPOCOR's proposal to relocate an aging
diesel power plant from Batangas to our untainted habitat, stinks
with treachery and deception. Packaged in fool's gold and endless
promises of prosperity this master stroke of a death sentence is
condemnation for our kasimanwas and our children and grandchildren.
The people of Patria and Pandan are to be sacrificed by some
scheming crocodiles who want to line up their pockets with ill-
gotten money. It could be easy for them. Many of our friends and
relatives could be easily enticed by a display of wealth and
pleasure just to sell out their souls. Do we have the guts to stand
up? Do we see beyond their evil designs? Are we really thinking
intelligently in dealing with this threat?
We are perplexed. The principles and character of people we trust
and look up as comrades in arms are now under attack. Will you
betray us and sell us out? Or will you be steadfast and stand up
high among heroes? Examine your conscience and expose those seeking
to corrupt your ideals and noble beliefs. DO NOT BUDGE!! THE
SURVIVAL OF OUR TOWNMATES DEPEND ON YOU!
We are surprised. After basking in our triumph at the historical
battle of Semirara we are being invaded right in our very midst. Our
defenders and allies in that fight are being used against us. Who
will stand up for us this time? Are you feeling the danger as much
as we do?
We Pandananons share the same future, the same territory, the same
life at the place we call home. That is the reason why we at
PAGTATAP go beyond ourselves in order to reach out and take part in
activities aimed at building up Pandan in its natural beauty and
elegance. Is there a price for that birthright? Are we going to be
swallowed by greed and short-sightedness? By selfishness? After the
sweet talk and the gifts have been spent, where do we go? What
damnation will we be bringing upon us and our posterity?
Our dear friends who lead our quaint but decent town - please think
a thousand times and unmask the evil that is being planted in our
shores. We love our municipality, we love our children, we value our
future. Save yourselves and save us from this impending catastrophe.
SAY NO TO NAPOCOR'S DIESEL POWER PLANT!! VOTE TO PRESERVE PANDAN!!
