Pandan Antique Foundation will give recognition to the men and women of Antique who gave their unwavering dedication, commitment and courage in the face of personal danger that led to the rejection of the proposed dumpsite at Semirara Island in the province of Antique from December 2000 to January 2001.
Criteria for Awards:
A. Plaque of Recognition
(To be awarded to members of PAF who have achieved the highest citation for their involvement in their fight against the dumping of Metro Manila's wastes to Semirara Island)
· Sacrificed their time and efforts to defend the cause even in times of the Christmas Holiday Season
· Despite the danger to their lives, have faced bravely the threats and intimidation of the Proponents of the Semirara dumpsite
· Worked closely with a panel of lawyers in defending the rights of Antiqueños
· Represented PAF in various print, radio and television interviews including appearances at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Antique Board meetings and rallies organized by the United Antiqueños Association
· Represented PAF at the Philippine Senate Hearings called by the Honorable Senator Loren Legarda
· Personally delivered and served the Temporary Restraining Orders to the Proponents issued by the Regional Trial Court of Antique inspite of great danger to their lives.
· Represented PAF at the Press Conference called by Mr. Gideon Javier of the United Antiqueños Association
· Mobilized the people of Antique and Boracay in implementing the plans and strategies of PAF
B. Certificate of Appreciation
(To be awarded to a member of PAF and Supporters from the United Antiqueños Association who implemented the plans and strategies in the fight against the dumping of Metro Manila's wastes to Semirara Island)
· Voluntarily supported PAF in defending its cause during the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Antique Board Members' Hearing and at the Antique Regional Trial Court Hearing
· Jointly supported PAF in its rally to awaken the people of Antique to save the environment and ecology of the province of Antique.
· Sought the help of Boracay Foundation and other organizations and resort property owners to rally behind the allied group of United Antiqueños
