MANGGYAN MEDICAL MISSION IN PANDAN

Spearheaded by Dr. Robert Peter Alojipan who is a native of Pandan himself, the MANGGYAN (Manggagamot ng Bayan) medical mission he will bring to Pandan, Antique, on the first week of April 2002 will be a cause for anticipation and celebration not just medically, but also socially. The newly-constructed Alex Liberman Surgical Pavilion (see article on page 3) will finally open its doors for the first time to start its operation, a fitting homage to Dr. Alojipan who was actively involved in this ALSP project from start to finish and to Melinda Pechangco Liberman for funding the pavilion. The arrival of the medical team will be a testimonial to the efficacy of the new edifice…a dream that has finally come true. ... full story on page 2

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW EDITOR-IN-CHIEF!

This month's issue of Bulalakaw is very special. I know that being an Editor-in-Chief of a Newsletter entails a lot of hard work but I survived with the help of those people who are very talented in writing. But somewhere along the way, I have been thinking that I may have done my job well but I know that there is someone who can do it better. I wanted to ask her a long time ago but time did not permit it. Then last week, I was so in the mood to publish some articles which are really good for a newsletter so everybody would be able to know how dedicated we are to our hometown Pandan. I finally asked her to become the Editor-in-Chief of Bulalakaw and she agreed. I was so happy knowing her expertise to do this kind of thing. I am really so proud of her. ... full story on page 9
